Chapter 1 is an Online Reading Volunteers Programme which connects schools and families with corporate volunteers. These volunteers spend 30 minutes reading online with the same child each week. Five Ashes CE Primary School has been part of the programme for the last two years and seen a huge impact upon the children have been involved. The school was entered into the Chapter One Partner, Volunteer and School Recognition Awards 2025 and we hugely excited to announce that the school won The Outstanding School Award!! Over 100 schools take part in Chapter One and we are so proud our school came an amazing 1st.
