Outlined below are the priorities for Frant CE Primary School this academic year. Most of the areas are Weald Federation wide, allowing for our schools to work collaboratively on them. A few of the areas are specific to Frant.
As part of the Weald Federation, our teachers benefit from being able to work collaboratively. This includes training opportunities, meetings to plan lessons for their year groups as well as developing the quality of education in specific subjects.

Safeguarding
To strengthen safeguarding practice with a particular focus on lockdown procedures and the effective use of CPOMS.
Inclusion
To support vulnerable pupils, through appropriate provision and strategies, to take ownership for their learning and social interactions.
To develop an approach to increasing pupils’ awareness and understanding of neurodiversity.
Curriculum and Teaching
To develop a monitoring and moderation timetable to ensure high quality teaching and accurate assessment across the curriculum.
To refine formative assessment through the use of both regular retrieval and spaced practice to deepen understanding and fluency of key knowledge, skills and concepts.
Achievement
To improve outcomes in:
- Writing, including spelling (Secure and Above)
- Multiplication times tables /fluency
- Maths outcomes at Frant and Y6 at Mayfield
- EYFS – Mark Cross and Five Ashes
Behaviour and Attitudes; Attendance
To monitor and analyse the attendance of vulnerable groups and the potential link to progress and attainment.
Personal development and wellbeing
To implement and review the mapped enrichment activities to enhance and strengthen the Weald Curriculum for pupils.
To develop an action plan to meet the DfE’s ‘Sustainability and Climate Change’ strategy.
To implement the PSHE curriculum (Opening Young Minds) and review and prepare for the September 2026 statutory guidance for RSE.
Early Years
To improve EYFS provision and outcomes (Mark Cross and Five Ashes).
Leadership and Governance
To work alongside the Governing Board to agree a deficit management action plan to maintain the stability and future direction of the Federation.
To continue to work collaboratively with the Wadhurst Alliance to strengthen inclusive practice.
To continue to raise the profile of the Weald Federation in order that school PANs support a more balanced budget.
Christian Distinctiveness
To ensure that Five Ashes and Frant are prepared for their SIAMS inspections.
To enhance mid-term planning for RE.
To strengthen a shared understanding of spirituality and embed spiritual opportunities throughout the curriculum.
