Thank you for your interest in The Weald Federation and the work of the Governing Board. I am first and foremost a parent, so the interests of the existing and prospective children at our schools is my primary reason for being a governor. It is a pleasure and privilege to be Chair of Governors and to work with such a capable and committed team of governors, leaders and staff. I am recently retired, having spent nearly 33 years in a commercial, branded-sales environment, leading global teams and specialising in operations and data. I am committed to providing all our schools with the depth of experience and expertise that can only come from a stable, well-managed cooperative environment such as The Weald Federation, allowing them to maintain their distinctiveness, thrive and deliver the best possible outcomes for pupils, alongside the Christian ethos and values that are such a part of who we are.

Governors – Who We Are and What We Do
As part of a team:
- Helping to provide strategic guidance and focus on the long-term vision for the Federation.
- Ensuring that the schools have contact with Governors, including visits, which aid the delivery of the School Improvement Plans.
- Governors hold the Executive Head Teachers accountable for implementing the school’s vision and strategy, including the educational performance of the schools and its pupils.
- Making sure that resources are used well, and that money is well spent.
The Weald Federation’s full Governing Board meets a minimum of three times a year and each governor has one or more allocated roles, on the main committees (Education & Standards and Finance & Resources), specifically linking to one school or an important area such as Ethos. There are excellent training resources available across the full range of subject areas, and we also ensure that vital areas such as Safeguarding are fully understood by all.
The Governing Board has the ability to appoint people with specialist knowledge or commitment, so please get in touch if you are interested.
There are certain statutory requirements in terms of published information, so please see the documents below for more detail on the Governing Board and its activities.
