Thank you for being a supporter of our four wonderful Church of England Primary schools Five Ashes, Frant, Mark Cross and Mayfield.
Having an active, available School Fund which can take in voluntary contributions is an important part of our schools’ financial armoury, especially in these extremely challenging times. Falling pupil numbers, rising costs and reductions in government funding are squeezing schools as never before, especially small, rural primaries.
Our Friends/PTAs do an amazing job in raising funds for specific things which contribute to the children at that specific school, allowing for subsidised trips, classroom and playground improvements etc. which would not otherwise be possible.
School Funds can however be used for a wider variety of purposes and will help us maintain the schools as the heart of our beautiful, vibrant village communities. We will use the funds you contribute to –
- Provide wider opportunities including a range of technology used by pupils and access to the Arts (including music teachers, drama, etc.)
- Promote Sustainability by supporting our children to drive change by lowering the environmental impact of our schools
- Ensure the fabric of our schools is maintained, for now and for the future.
As examples, access to a music teacher or the resources to further enhance our Open Young Minds initiative could each cost up to £2000 per school, per year.

Whilst the Weald Federation plays a vital role in ensuring that we are efficient with the funding we receive and that we are able to deliver the highest possible quality of education across the schools, the contributions to each School Fund are school specific and that link will always be respected.
