At The Weald Federation, our Preventative Curriculum is rooted in our Christian vision to inspire every child to safely flourish within their community. Through a carefully sequenced personal development curriculum supported by the Opening Young Minds programme, children proactively learn how to protect their physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing. Our intent is to embed safeguarding directly into their daily learning, equipping pupils with strategies to self-regulate, build resilience, form healthy relationships, and recognize risks so they can make informed choices. This responsive, trauma-informed curriculum adapts to the lived experiences of our pupils, ensuring that all children—including those with SEND or from vulnerable backgrounds—receive timely, inclusive, and therapeutic support to thrive both online and offline.
